Suraj Holzwarth will be here May 14th at 1:15pm to share her book: Heart Like A Mountain with us. This memoir recounts her extraordinary journey as the youngest woman to summit Denali at just 19 years old. Over a grueling 30-day expedition through Alaska's remote wilderness, Suraj and her team faced numerous challenges, including sever weather conditions, difficult terrain, and physical exhaustion while carrying heavy gear.
Her narrative emphasizes the importance of dreaming big, following one's passion, and overcoming obstacles, showcasing both her resilience and deep communion with the earth. Suraj's story serves as an inspiring testament to courage, determination, and the pursuit of adventure-reminding us that we are all called to climb the mountains that shape the strength of our hearts.
Suraj Holzwarth has over 25 years of experience in climbing and guiding worldwide. She co-founded Alaska Women of the Wilderness in 1983 and led it for 17 years, empowering more than 50,000 women and girls. As the Executive Director of The Whirling Rainbow Foundation for the past 25 years, she focuses on cultural and healing arts. at 65, she remains active in outdoor activities and is an author, healer, artist, musician, and spiritual teacher.
